Mets Roster Moves: New York Places Ronny Cedeno On Disbled List, Recalls RHP Jeremy Hefner

The New York Mets have made a pair of roster moves on Monday just prior to the first game of their doubleheader against the San Francisco Giants.

According to the official New York Mets Twitter feed, the team has placed infielder Ronny Cedeno on the 15-day disabled list with a left intercostal strain. Cedeno has played in 10 games so far this season and is 3-for-16 with three walks and an RBI.

In a corresponding roster move, the Mets have recalled right-handed pitcher Jeremy Hefner from Triple A Buffalo. Hefner has not yet made his MLB debut. In three starts so far in 2012, Hefner is 2-1 with a 1.96 ERA and nine strikeouts. In three seasons at the Triple A level, the 26-year-old has a record of 11-8 with a 4.62 ERA and 134 strikeouts.
