The New York Mets today completed the trade that sent reliever Francisco Rodriguez to the Milwaukee Brewers earlier this season. The Mets acquired minor-league pitchers Adrian Rosario and Danny Ray Herrera.
Rosario, a 21-year-old right-hander, went a combined 4-6 with a 4.32 ERA in 35 games, including 14 starts, for high Class A Brevard County and low A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
SB Nation’s Minor League Ball did not list Rosario among Milwaukee’s top 20 prospects for 2011. Herrera did not make Cincinnati’s top 20.
Herrera, a 26-year-old left-hander, went 1-0 with a 1.48 ERA and two saves in 29 games for Triple-A Nashville. Milwaukee claimed him on waivers from the Cincinnati Reds on May 23. He had one stint with the Brewers in June when he made two relief appearances.
