  • New York Mets ownership is being forced to consider selling a partial stake in the team due to serious financial issues stemming from Bernie Madoff and his Ponzi scheme. We have known for a while that the Mets have been operating on a financial shoestring, and this gives us a little more insight into how bad the situation is.

  • It was a bad night on the hardwood for local NBA squads. The New York Knicks lost to the Atlanta Hawks, 111-102, and the New Jersey Nets were obliterated by the Indiana Pacers, 124-92.

  • Eli Manning says he would be OK with it if the New York Giants were to bring back Plaxico Burress. Truthfully, what else is Eli supposed to say? It's not his decision. If the Giants do decided to bring back Burress, which I still see as unlikely, does he want to be on record as having come out against the move and being unhappy to have him around? That would not be smart.
