Dwight Howard Trade Rumors: Nets Pursuing Ersan Ilyasova As A Backup Plan

The Brooklyn Nets are having a busy summer. On top of the moving trucks, the team has been wheeling and dealing in free agency in attempts to have a team ready to run when the curtain goes up in the fall. The Nets are still trying to work a trade for Orlando Magic forward Dwight Howard. At the same time, they are pursuing a backup plan in the form of Ersan Ilyasova, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Woj explains:

Short of a deal for Howard, the Nets are searching for a third team to take their own free agent, Kris Humphries, as part of a sign-and-trade scenario with the Bucks. The third team would potentially be rewarded with future draft picks from the Nets for taking on Humphries. Milwaukee could end up with a trade exception for future use.

Milwaukee is so far reticent to deal, and Woj classifies the talks as nothing "serious" at the moment.
