Dwight Howard Trade Rumors: Brooklyn Nets Moving On After Magic Refuse To Talk, According To Report

The Brooklyn Nets were the "one team" on Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard's list he said he would sign a long-term contract with.

However, it appears that will have to wait until Howard is a free agent following the 2012-13 season. The Nets have reportedly decided to move on from trying to acquire Howard. In fact, a source says that Howard "blew it in March" when he waived his opt-out clause last March (via Chris Broussard's Twitter). The Nets did want to talk with the Magic about trading for Howard, but Orlando did not want to talk to the Nets (via Broussard's Twitter).

Deron Williams is reportedly meeting with the Nets on Monday evening as the team tries to make its pitch to get him to re-sign. Brooklyn reportedly acquired Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson on Monday in a trade.
