NBA Free Agency 2012: Knicks Officially Sign Chris Copeland

The New York Knicks continued to add depth to their preseason roster Monday, as they signed forward Chris Copeland to a non-guaranteed deal. According to reports, Copeland is currently playing with the Knicks summer league team in Las Vegas and will have a chance to compete for a roster spot in training camp.

Copeland, 28, is a 6-foot-8 forward who has played in Europe the last four seasons and also spent time in the D-League. Copeland is the second American who has recently been playing overseas to be signed by the Knicks, joining James White who was inked last week.

The Orange, N.J., native averaged 21.8 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game in the Belgian League last season. Copeland had a team-high 17 points and two blocks in a loss to the Suns on Sunday. The Knicks play again in the Summer League on Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets.
