NBA Free Agency Rumors 2012: Knicks Have Interest In Ronnie Brewer?

New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson would not say which free agents his club was looking at while in Las Vegas for Summer League games. However a source told ESPN New York that the Knicks are interested in free agent guard Ronnie Brewer (via ESPN NY).

The Chicago Bulls recently declined to pick up Brewer's option (worth $4.37 million), which made him an unrestricted free agent. The Knicks still have two more days to match the three-year, $20 million offer which Landry Fields got from the Toronto Raptors.

Brewer's best season in his career was as a starter with the Utah Jazz in 2008-2009 when he averaged 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. After coming off the bench during his first season with Chicago in 2010-2011, the Bulls used him mostly as a starter in 2012 but his scoring numbers were down at only 6.9 points per game.
