Jeremy Lin Free Agency Rumors: Mike Woodson Says Point Guard Staying In New York

New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson sounded a confident note about point guard Jeremy Lin's future with the team. Woodson told the media on Wednesday that Lin was "absolutely" returning to the Knicks this season.

Woodson's comments followed Lin's social media refutation of reports that he was unhappy with the Knicks. Last season's breakout sensation excoriated those who bought into whispers of his displeasure with the team.

Lin has agreed to sign a four-year offer sheet with the Houston Rockets, the team that cut him prior to last season, worth $28 million. New York is expected to match that offer. However, Lin has yet to actually sign the offer and it has not been officially sent to the Knicks to match.

The Knicks head coach made it clear that he expects Lin to have a starting job with the team, even after New York agreed to a deal with veteran point guard Jason Kidd.
