NBA Free Agency 2012: New York Knicks Sign Pablo Prigioni

The New York Knicks finalized a deal with Pablo Prigioni. ESPN, citing Prigioni's agent, reported the news on Wednesday night.

A point guard from Argentina, Prigioni and the Knicks agreed to a one-year deal. Financial terms of the deal were not reported.

The Knicks have known about Prigioni for some time now, literally years according to his agent. New York met with Prigioni a few weeks ago. The 35-year-old has never played in the NBA before. Having played for teams in Argentina and Europe, Prigioni's agent described his client as a "top passer and defender." With the Knicks, he will be a backup to Jeremy Lin, once he signs, and Jason Kidd, who has also yet to sign with the team.

Prigioni is currently training with the Argentinian Olympic team.
