Steve Nash Free Agency Rumors: New York Knicks, Nash Not A Match?

Not so fast on those Steve Nash to the New York Knicks rumors. Despite Nash's recent comment that he would "definitely consider" the Knicks, a report today indicates that at least one person close to Nash thinks that is a bunch of hogwash.

From the New York Post:

"The confidant said Nash doesn't really believe the Knicks are close enough to a title to take less money and didn't like how former coach Mike D'Antoni, his buddy from Phoenix, was treated. Nash will get offers for more than $5 million, especially from Phoenix."

Many consider Nash, a two-time MVP and one of the best passing point guards to ever play, the perfect player to bring some continuity to the dysfunctional Knicks offense. The 38-year-old Nash, though, will have plenty of teams to choose from. It may turn out that the Knicks need Nash more than he needs them, so don't count on seeing him team with Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire next season.
