In his latest 2012 NBA Mock Draft, ESPN analyst Chad Ford projects two former Syracuse Orange stars to go in the top 20.
Ford projects that Dion Waiters will be selected by the Golden State Warriors with the No. 7 pick, and his teammate Fab Melo will go to the Minnesota Timberwolves at No. 18.
There have been many reports that Waiters, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound guard, has a promise to be selected in the lottery. He was named the Big East's Sixth Man of the Year after averaging 12.6 points in 24.1 minutes per game off the bench.
Melo was selected as the Big East's Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 7.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.9 blocks last season. He has a lot of improving left to do on the offensive end, but projects to be capable of protecting the rim.
