Amare Stoudemire Injury Update: No Ligament Or Tendon Damage, According To Report

New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire received some good news Tuesday, but still might not suit up again this postseason.

A hand specialist who examined Stoudemire's injured left hand Tuesday found no ligament or tendon damage, according to a New York Daily News report. The star will still miss Game 3 and could miss additional time, perhaps the remainder of the Knicks' first-round series.

Stoudemire hurt his left hand punching a fire extinguisher in frustration after New York's 104-94 loss to the Miami Heat in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series. The Knicks now trail Miami 2-0 in the series. Stoudemire had 18 points and seven rebounds Monday night during New York's defeat.
