New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire has been ruled out of Game 3 against the Miami Heat after injuring himself punching a fire extinguisher following New York's Game 2 loss, according to a report from Newsday's Al Iannazzone.
Stoudemire is reportedly meeting with a hand specialist on Tuesday to determine the extent of the damage, and is doubtful to return the remainder of the series.
New York has been thoroughly outmatched in its first two games against the Heat, falling by a combined 43 points while digging an 0-2 series hole.
Stoudemire scored 18 points with seven rebounds during Game 2. After the loss, he struck a fire extinguisher in frustration.
