Amar'e Stoudemire Injury: Knicks Forward 'Almost Certain' To Miss Game 3, According To Reports

The New York Knicks have a few days before they take the court against the Miami Heat in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, but the playing status for Amar'e Stoudemire doesn't look good for Thursday night. According to a report by ESPNNewYork.com, Stoudemire, who punched a fire extinguisher in frustration after the Knicks 104-94 loss in Game 2 Monday, is "almost certain" to miss Game 3.

Stoudemire hasn't undergone any MRIs or X-rays and the team provided no further update on the extent of the injury.

On Monday, Stoudemire shot just nine times in his 18-point, seven-rebound performance in Game 2, which featured New York playing better than Game 1's blowout but not playing well enough to pull out the victory against the favored Heat.
