The New York Knicks went from post-season outsiders to possible first-round upset favorites, and the man in charge of their front-office moves, general manager Glen Grunwald, was rewarded for the success Tuesday. Grunwald, who was given the interim general manager and executive vice president tags after Donnie Walsh stepped down last July, was officially handed the jobs by owner James Dolan.
The Knicks will officially announce the news Wednesday before they host the Los Angeles Clippers in their second-to-last regular-season contest.
"Glen has done a terrific job this season," Dolan said in a statement. "He is an intelligent, seasoned executive and we look forward to him continuing in the role of general manager for many years to come."
Meanwhile, many are now speculation that interim head coach Mike Woodson is next in line for a promotion. Especially, since star forward Carmelo Anthony said he'd love to see Woodson, who has helped lead the Knicks to a 16-6 record since taking over for Mike D'Antonio in March.
