Knicks Vs. Nets: Big Night From 'Melo Powers New York To 104-95 Win

Carmelo Anthony scored 33 points on Wednesday night as the New York Knicks beat the New Jersey Nets by a final score of 104-95. The win keeps them in the seventh spot in the NBA Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Anthony scored 21 of his 33 points in the opening quarter, giving the Knicks a 38-22 lead after the first period. It was the third game in a row that Anthony topped the 30-point mark and the sixth time in his last nine games to break that barrier. This without Amare Stoudemire and Jeremy Lin.

Deron Williams was out again for the Nets, still dealing with a sore calf. Gerald Wallace led New Jersey with 21 points. Sundiata Gaines had 18 points, and Kris Humphries had 15 rebounds on the night.

Three of the Knicks last four games are on the road, starting Friday in Cleveland. The Nets have three games left, starting Saturday in Milwaukee. They play their last game in New Jersey on Monday, April 23, before moving to Brooklyn next season.
