The New York Knicks play the first of their last six regular-season games Tuesday, as they host Atlantic Division rival the Boston Celtics for the last time during the 2011-12 season. The Knicks (31-29) will enter the contest (8 p.m. ET on TNT) in a tie for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings, two games ahead of ninth-place Milwaukee Bucks, while the Celtics are trying to win the season series against New York for the eighth straight season.
On Sunday, New York lost to the Miami Heat 93-85, however, the loss didn't hurt the Knicks when it comes to the playoff race, because both the Philadelphia 76ers and Bucks lost their respective games. New York is tied with Philly for seventh place.
Entering Tuesday's showdown, the Knicks are expecting center Tyson Chandler, who banged his knee in Sunday's loss, to play, however, star forward Amare Stoudemire is not expected to play as he's trying to recover from a bulging disc in his back. Stoudemire has been out since March 26 and could return within the next 10 days.
To catch the contest, here's the game's basic information:
