Jeremy Lin Named Finalist For NBA Sportsmanship Award

Jeremy Lin isn't just about reviving basketball in the Big Apple, regressing back to the mean and suffering cruel injuries that threaten to end his first season with the New York Knicks prematurely. He's also a role model of sportsmanship.

The New York Post reported Friday that Lin -- along with Cleveland Cavaliers forward Antawn Jamison, Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Kidd, Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul, Miami Heat forward Shane Battier and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Luke Ridnour -- has been named a finalist for the NBA Sportsmanship Award. The winner will be chosen after a vote by NBA players and announced after the regular season.

The award is designed to honor the player who displays the most sportsmanship on the court. Lin was named the Atlantic Division's finalist for the award after the way he remained humble even while a nation of sports fans erupted in Linsanity around him. The guard, out since March 24 due to injury, emerged from the Knicks bench to become one of the sports world's biggest surprises.
