Jeremy Lin Injury Update: Return 'Won't Be Anytime Soon'

Jeremy Lin will play basketball again, but will it be for the New York Knicks?

Lin’s return to the New York Knicks “won’t be anytime soon,” according to interim coach Mike Woodson.

Woodson said that Lin would return “somewhere down the road.” Lin had surgery April 2 for a torn meniscus and is not expected back this season unless the Knicks advance to at least the second round of the NBA playoffs.

Lin will be a free agent at the end of the current season. If the Knicks don’t make it deep enough into the playoffs for Lin to return, could "Linsanity" be moving on to a different NBA city?

It is hard to imagine the Knicks letting Lin go. It is also difficult, however, to gauge what kind of contract Lin might desire after his short run in the spotlight, or that the Knicks might be willing to offer.

Lin averaged 14.6 points and 6.1 assists for the Knicks in 35 games.
