New York Knicks center Marcus Camby will miss seven to 10 days of action with a left calf strain. Via ESPNNewYork.com:
Backup center Marcus Camby has a strained left calf and will be out of action for seven to 10 days, the Knicks announced Saturday.
Camby, 38, missed practice on Friday with what was called a sore left calf. An MRI taken after revealed the strain.
Given that timeframe, Camby will most likely miss the first two preseason games of the year for New York, against the Washington Wizards Oct. 11 and the Boston Celtics Oct. 13.
A four-time member of the NBA all-defensive team, Camby is back on the Knicks after being traded this past July from the Houston Rockets in exchange for Toney Douglas, Josh Harrellson, Jerome Jordan, and two future draft picks.
Camby was a member of the Knicks from 1998 to 2002, after being traded by the Raptors for Charles Oakley. The big man was part of the 1998-99 New York team that became the first eight seed to make it to the NBA Finals.
