Knicks at Wizards, preseason opener: Game time, TV, preview

The Knicks get their preseason underway on Thursday night against the Wizards.

Debby Wong-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The New York Knicks begin their 2012 preseason schedule when they take on the Wizards on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in Washington D.C. The game will be broadcast on MSG and ESPN 1050.

This will be the first chance for Knick's head coach Mike Woodson to work with his new players. Jason Kidd makes his New York debut after joining the team over the offseason. The 18-year veteran averaged 6.2 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game last season with the Dallas Mavericks.

The Knicks have four players that won't play on Thursday night: Marcus Camby, Ronnie Brewer, Iman Shumpert, and Chris Smith are all listed as 'out.'

Washington will be competing in their second preseason game. The Wizards fell 100-88 to the Charlotte Bobcats on Sunday. They are without point guard John Wall, who is recovering from injury.

New York will play six games in preparation for the regular season-opener on Nov. 11.
