It took the New York Knicks nearly three minutes to put their first points on the board, allowing the Charlotte Bobcats to jump out to a 10-0 lead early in Monday night's game at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks crawled their way back, however, retaking the lead late in the first quarter, and stretching their lead up to nine points before settling on 50-45 lead into halftime.
Once again, the Knicks relied on their athletic frontcourt for much of their scoring. Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler combined for 31 points in the half. Stoudemire hauled in eight rebounds to go with his 15 points on 4-for-14 shooting.
Iman Shumpert continues to be a quality facilitator this season with three assists to go along with 12 points on 6-for-10 shooting and five rebounds. Boris Diaw and D.J. White lead the way for Charlotte, combining for 23 points on 10-for-13 shooting for the half.
