Morning Coffee! Knicks Outscore Nets

Good morning, New York/New Jersey-area sports fans! New York Knicks vs. New Jersey Nets, Opening Day of the baseball season, the NIT finals, a little hockey action -- lots to talk about today.

The Knicks earned a 120-116 victory over the Nets Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden. The Nets did make the Knicks earn it, leading much of the game. In the end, though, the Knicks had too much offensive firepower for New Jersey.

The New York Yankees open the Major League Baseball season today at Yankee Stadium against the Detroit Tigers (1:05 p.m., YES). There is a 70 percent chance of rain all day in the Bronx today and a 60 percent chance of rain and snow on Friday. Yep, great idea to start the baseball season in New York this early in the year.

The New York Rangers lost a 1-0 decision to the Buffalo Sabres Wednesday night. A tough call against New York that nullified a goal added to a frustrating night.

The NIT Finals are tonight if you absolutely have to have a college basketball fix. Alabama faces Wichita State (7 p.m. ET, ESPN2).
