Morning Coffee! Knicks Are Broken

Good morning, New York/New Jersey area sports fans! Let's get right to your first look at the regional sports scene.

↵

NBA: The New York Knicks are broken. There is no other way to describe this team. After an embarrassing 114-106 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats Saturday night the Knicks have lost six straight. Our Chris Celletti is leading the charge for the head of coach Mike D'Antoni, and it is hard to blame him for that. This late in the season it is virtually impossible to see how changing the coach would help, but it is not hard to imagine the Knicks looking elsewhere for next season.

The New Jersey Nets (yes, they are still playing) lost to the Atlanta Hawks, 98-87. Let's just say this -- the Nets aren't playing for anything, but at least they look like they are trying.

↵

MLB: The New York Yankees still have decisions to make on their 25-man roster for Opening Day. We take a look at some of the possibilities.

↵

NHL: The New York Rangers shut out the Buffalo Sabres, 1-0, Saturday night. Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was brilliant.

↵

MLS: The New York Red Bulls were forced to make six lineup changes Saturday due to injury and international call-ups, but they still managed a 0-0 draw with the Columbus Crew. For short-handed New York that has to be considered an outstanding outcome.
