The New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils earned huge victories Tuesday night as they continue scrapping for every possible point in the hunt for NHL playoff berths. The Rangers are now alone in seventh place in the Eastern Conference after a 6-3 victory over the New York Islanders. The Devils moved within six points of the eighth and final playoff spot with a stirring victory over the Atlanta Thrashers, coming back from a two-goal deficit to win, 4-2.

The New York Knicks lost to the Indiana Pacers, 119-117, Tuesday on Danny Granger's jump shot with less than a second to play.

Believe it or not, the MLS season has started, and the New York Red Bulls held their Media Day on Tuesday.
