The New Jersey Nets and Denver Nuggets are on the verge of a trade for Carmelo Anthony with a meeting between the All Star and the Nets owner the only obstacle when said All-Star claims he has no idea about any of it.
Sound familiar? It should, because that's what happened in January before it was confirmed that a meeting was to take place. That only came to light after Mikhail Prokhorov put a halt to talks with the Nuggets.
Speaking Friday at a community event, Anthony said there was "no meeting at all" and that it was all "news to me".
The moral of the story?
Odds are the meeting is going down, but since he didn't yet have all of the information -- just like last time when he was ambushed in the locker room immediately after a game -- Anthony decided to claim ignorance.
