Carmelo Anthony Trade Rumors: Report Says Nets, Nuggets In 'Advanced Talks'

The Carmelo Anthony story seems to change, at least a little, just about every time you turn around at this point. According to the latest report, this one from Yahoo! Sports, the New Jersey Nets have gone from out of the Anthony hunt to back at the table now in “advanced talks” for the Denver Nuggets’ star.

Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Nets would send Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, Troy Murphy, Ben Uzoh and four — yes, four — first-round draft picks to the Nuggets. In exchange, they would get Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Melvin Ely, Renaldo Balkman and Shelden Williams.

Of course, there are still a couple of small hurdles. One being that Anthony would still have to agree to sign an extension with the Nets, which he has never publicly indicated a willingness to do. Two being that, also according to Yahoo!, Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov is still saying he is not interested in the deal.

Of course, if Prokhorov really was not interested the Nets and Nuggets would not be talking at all.

Geesh, I can hardly wait until Friday morning to see how much the story changes overnight.
