Amar'e Stoudemire Injures Ankle, May Miss Next Game

The New York Knicks were blown out by the Los Angeles Lakers on national TV lThursday night, as they lost by a final score of 99-82. Adding injury to insult, Knicks power forward Amar'e Stoudmire sprained his left ankle in the fourth quarter and may not play Saturday against Sacramento, according to Stoudemire himself.

[Amar'e] would not guarantee he'd play Saturday vs. the Kings. "I have it wrapped up, I'll get an assessment (Friday) on it and see how it feels,'' Stoudemire said.

Prior to the injury Stoudemire played an abysmal game. He finished with 15 points, 2 rebounds and 4 turnovers. He missed 13 of his 17 shots and had four of his shot attempts blocked by Lakers. Through three games this season Amar'e is shooting 40 percent from the field – nearly 14 percent below his career average.
