Carmelo Anthony Trade Rumors: Prokhorov Up To Bat

Carmelo Anthony is still not a member of the New Jersey Nets or New York Knicks. The Melo-Drama continues with no apparent end in sight, and it's beginning to wear on everyone. Here is a look around at what is being written and said about the situation today.

Nets’ pitch to ’Melo: swing and miss? - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
Yahoo! Sports says New Jersey Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov had better come back with Anthony in tow if he gets on a plane and goes to Denver to talk with him. From Yahoo:

In the end, it comes down to this. Get on the plane, Mikhail and Jay-Z, and you’d better come back with something you should’ve had long ago: a commitment from Carmelo Anthony, a promise fulfilled finally from what’s turning out to be one more delusional, directionless NBA owner and his fumbling franchise.

The New York Times also said Prokhorov's visit might be the Nets last chance to convince Anthony to accept a move to the Nets.

In any case, Prokhorov’s visit may bring finality to the Nets’ pursuit. If Anthony declines to meet with Prokhorov, then his indifference is clear. If he chooses to meet, then the parameters of a three-team trade that revolves around Anthony and includes the Detroit Pistons could finally be agreed upon.

The Denver Nuggets are distracted by the whole mess, and coach George Karl says he might have to cut 'Melo's minutes for the time being.

ESPN also says it is now or never for a trade to get made.

The Star-Ledger says the Nuggets are holding up the deal, not Anthony.
