The New York Knicks are looking to a couple of their newest players for leadership this season.
Coach Mike D’Antoni today named Amare Stoudemire and Raymond Felton as co-captains.
Stoudemire gave a speech to the team during the dinner. "It means a lot,‘’ Stoudemire said after today’s practice. "But we all most lead. I told them how important it is for everyone to accept a leadership role and how important it is to maintain health, nutrition, weight room, taking care of your body and cardio.’’
D’Antoni did not have a captain in his first season. Last year, he quietly named David Lee and Chris Duhon in midseason.
