Morning Coffee! Nets, Knicks Open NBA Seasons Tonight

Good morning, New York sports fans. Oh, what to talk about following a night where there were no games for any of the local squads? Decisions, decisions.

  • Lets's start with the NBA. The New Jersey Nets open their season tonight by hosting the Detroit Pistons. The Nets won 12 games last season. If I put the over/under for New Jersey victories this season at 24, which would you take? The New York Knicks open tonight in Toronto. Different question for the Knicks. Playoffs/no playoffs?

  • New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle says the Giants are "hands down" the best team in the NFL. I am sure the New York Jets and several other teams disagree. I'm also pretty sure head coach Tom Coughlin wishes Rolle would learn to keep his mouth shut.

  • The New York Mets should have a general manager by the end of the week. It will be an upset if Sandy Alderson is not the choice.
  • ↵
  • The Devils, Islanders and Rangers are all in action tonight. The Rangers are the only team playing at home, though, as they host the Atlanta Thrashers.
