New York Jets Training Camp 2012: Jets Waive Demarcus Ganaway and Scotty McKnight

The New York Jets did have 12 wide receivers on the roster. They're now down to an even 10.

On Monday, New York decided to waive both DaMarcus Ganaway and Scotty McKnight, according to Manish Menta via twitter.

McKnight played college football at the University of Colorado and was a productive player, prompting the Jets to take a flier on him in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft. However, McKnight never recorded a catch in his one season with Gang Green.

Ganaway never saw anytime with New York or any other NFL team for that matter since leaving Kentucky Wesleyan after his senior season in 2010. He was brought into camp with the hope he could find a spot on the practice squad or even as a special-teamer, but that didn't materialize.

With the first preseason game of the year coming up on Friday, the cuts will start coming with regularity as the roster gets trimmed to 53 by the season opener.
