After suffering a serious knee injury during Sunday's game, the Jets waived/injured tight end Josh Baker on Monday.

Baker was injured during the second quarter when he took a helmet to the knee while attempting to catch a touchdown pass. He was carted off the field and had an MRI on his knee Monday. According to a report from The Daily News, Baker suffered at least a torn right ACL, an injury which would cause him to miss the 2012 season. If Baker clears waivers, he will then be placed on the Jets Injured Reserve list.

Baker's injury is another blow to the Jets' tight end depth which has been hit with several injuries during training camp. Starter Dustin Keller is battling hamstring issues while backups Jeff Cumberland and Dedrick Epps are also out with injuries.

Baker was entering his second season with the Jets. He played in 11 games last season, catching three passes for 27 yards and one touchdown.
