New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said Monday that quarterback Mark Sanchez "looks tremendous" and reaffirmed that Sanchez - not Tim Tebow - will be the team's starting quarterback this season.
Per WFAN:
"Sanchez looks great," Ryan told WFAN's Boomer & Carton on Monday. "This is the best he's looked."
Despite all the Tebow talk, Ryan reiterated there's "no quarterback controversy here."
"Mark is our quarterback, he's our starting quarterback," he said. "Obviously, Tebow can run the Wildcat and things and be the primary backup quarterback, but Mark is our starting quarterback. And he looks tremendous back there."
Ryan also denied that he lost the team last season, though he did admit to learning from the locker room turmoil that took place in 2011.
