Offseason NFL Power Rankings are pretty much meaningless. Just fodder for discussion. But, hey, it is the NFL offseason, the draft is over and training camps don't start for months. So, what else have we got to talk about?
↵That said, our friends at SB Nation have released 2012 NFL Offseason Power Rankings based on free agency, the draft and where things left off last season -- with the New York Giants winning the Super Bowl. SB Nation has the defending champion Giants ranked No. 3, while the middling New York Jets are ranked, appropriately, right in the middle. The Jets are No. 17.

SB Nation has the Green Bay Packers No. 1 and New England Patriots No. 2. Here is what SB Nation's Joel Thorman wrote in placing the Giants No. 3:
↵↵↵Super Bowl champs. We know they have the nucleus in place to make a Super Bowl run. The thing is, they only won nine regular season games last year. That won't get you in the playoffs some years. The NFC East's goal is to not even give them a shot at another playoff run.

Here is Thorman's take on the Jets:
↵↵↵Right in the middle of the pack. I'm not totally sure what to make of the Jets in the 2012 season. A lights out defense will be necessary.

What do you think of these rankings, gang? Personally, I think they are pretty fair.
