The New York Jets were given Alabama linebacker Courtney Upshaw with the 16th pick in the latest 2012 SB Nation.com NFL Mock Draft (via SB Nation).
Here's what Ryan Van Bibber had to say about the Upshaw selection:
Lost in Rex Ryan's bluster and all the drama on offense is the fact that the Jets' defense is seriously lacking pass rushers. Upshaw gives them a player who can be moved around the field and has the chops to get to quarterbacks.
Upshaw was third on Alabama in tackling last season with 52 stops (37 solo) but 18 of those were tackles for loss. Upshaw also had 9.5 sacks, 11 quarterback hurries and a pick six.
