2012 NFL Draft Results, Round 7: Antonio Allen Picked By New York Jets, No. 242 Overall

With the 35th pick in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the New York Jets have selected defensive back, Antonio Allen, from South Carolina.

Allen appears to present good value for the Jets, as ESPN's Scout's Inc. ranked him as the fifth best safety in the entire draft class and the 103rd overall prospect. The Jets got him with the 242 pick, in the seventh round.

The National Football Post also ranked Allen high, as their sixth best strong safety in this class. Here's what they had to say about him in their scouting report:

A physical in the box type player who doesn't key overly well. Isn't an NFL caliber pass defender either and looks more like a very average old school type strong safety.
