2012 NFL Mock Draft, New York Jets Prospect Profiles: Melvin Ingram, OLB, South Carolina

In SB Nation's latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft, Ryan Van Bibber projects that the New York Jets will use the 16th pick to select Melvin Ingram, an outside linebacker from South Carolina.

In addition to some organizational therapy, the Jets need another pass rusher. Aaron Maybin led the team with six sacks last year. Rex Ryan will love Ingram's energy, as well as his ability to move around the field and give the defense different looks.

Ingram, a 6-foot-2, 272-pounder, is rated No. 14 on the National Football Post's 2012 NFL Draft Big Board. NFP concluded its Ingram scouting report by saying, "He is an impressive pass rusher who can get after the QB in a number of ways. Ingram is raw with his technique and can get better, but his suddenness, length and natural feel for the game makes me think he's one of the draft best senior pass rushers."
