The New York Jets have 10 selections in the 2012 NFL Draft, which will be held April 26-28 at Radio City Music Hall. General manager Mike Tannenbaum admitted during a pre-draft press conference on Thursday that the Jets would be "open" to the idea of using those extra picks to trade out of the 16th slot.
"We're sitting here with 10 picks as of now. We'll see how things unfold," Tannenbaum said. "Could we slide up or back? We're gonna be open to all scenarios." I really don't know what we're going to do, but I do like the flex. of having the 10."
The Jets have the 16th overall selection in the first round. Recent speculation has had the Jets interested in moving up as high as No. 7, a pick owned by the Jacksonville Jaguars, to select South Carolina DE/OLB Melvin Ingram. Tannenbaum, of course, did not address that speculation.
