Peyton Manning Rumors, Thursday [Version 2]: Joe Namath Says Manning Won't Join Jets

Legendary New York Jets and Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath says the team can forget about signing Peyton Manning, blaming the locker room discord the team experienced during the 2011 season.

Here is what Namath told Bloomberg News:

"The Jets have to get things together on their own turf before someone with his background would be interested in coming."

Namath, of course, is one of the few players positioned to understand what Manning is going through. Namath led the Jets to their only Super Bowl and built his Hall of Fame resume in New York, but left the team for his final season, heading to the Los Angeles Rams. He appeared in only four games for the Rams in 1977.

Jimmy Johnson: Miami 'Perfect' for Peyton

Jimmy Johnson, current FOX analyst and former head coach of the Dallas Cowboys and the University of Miami, thinks the Dolphins are the place for Manning.
