Peyton Manning Derby: New York Jets Among Teams Inquiring

The New York Jets were reportedly among the NFL teams who reached out to free-agent quarterback Peyton Manning Tuesday. The Daily News reported that the Jets are trying to find out if Manning is interested in coming to New York to play for them.

The Jets have lots of company. Twelve teams reportedly contacted Manning’s representatives Wednesday.

“I have no idea who wants me, what team wants me, how this process works,” Manning told a group of reporters in South Florida, where he has a home and flew after the news conference. “I don’t know if it’s like college recruiting where you go take visits. I mean, this is all so new to me.”

The Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins are expected to be among the teams who will be most aggressive in their pursuit of Manning, who will be 36 next season.
