The Denver Broncos will trade quarterback Tim Tebow to the New York Jets, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Additional details were not available along with Schefter's initial report.
Barring another late change in the Tebow trade saga, the news comes as a bit of a surprise after earlier reports on Wednesday said that Tebow would be allowed to choose between the Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Many expected him to choose the Jaguars based on a report earlier in the week that he preferred to play in Florida.
The Jets had a deal in place with the Broncos earlier in the day on Wednesday. A hangup over the details of the contract, specifically how much money the Jets' would have to pay in the deal along with the draft picks, got their first attempt at a trade nixed by the league.
The terms of this deal were a little different than the first one. The Broncos sent Tebow and a seventh-round pick to the Jets in exchange for New York's fourth- and sixth-round pick.
Denver has agreed to trade Tim Tebow and a seventh-round pick to the Jets for the NY's fourth-round pick and a sixth-round pick.
