Tim Tebow Rumors: Jets Are Unlikely Landing Spot; Florida On Wish List Says Sources

Next to Los Angeles, New York is probably the greatest place for sports rumors and useless water-cooler talk, and the latest Peyton Manning to the Denver Broncos news has unleashed maybe the greatest "what if" New York spots rumor ever.

With former Broncos' starting quarterback, Tim Tebow, needing possibly a new place to play, there are rumors swirling that the New York Jets could be a possible destination. The intrigue led to insiders asking to the question, and sources are telling ESPNNY.com's Rich Cimini Tebow to New York is a "its a long shot".

Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum has a reputation for exploring just about everything and, after all, a "long shot" doesn’t mean no shot.

However, in Tebow is hoping to return to Florida and play there, says Monica Culpepper, the wife of ex-Florida Gator teammate Brad Culpepper, who had dinner with Tebow last week.

"And in all honesty, Tim said, 'I miss home. I miss the South. And hopefully I'll land somewhere in Florida.' I sure hope Jacksonville takes him because he's such a great kid, such a good player and would be so thrilled to come back to the South."

Meanwhile, Vegas has released the betting odds on Tebow's landing spot and New York is not on the list.
