Jets Free Agency 2012: Sione Pouha Signed To Three-Year Deal

According to Manish Mehta, the New York Jets have come to terms with nose tackle Sione Pouha on a three-year deal. The finances of the deal are yet to be released.

This is a big signing by the Jets on the last day they could bargain with him without the open market becoming a factor. The 33-year old Pouha anchors a defensive line that has the makings of dominance with young Muhammad Wilkerson looking like a true talent.

Some thought Pouha would be given the franchise tag but general manager Mike Tannenbaum decided against it.

With all of the uncertainty in New York after a tumultuous season, the last week has seen some order restored with Mark Sanchez getting an extension and now Pouha being paid.

The Jets can now turn their attention to the outside for some help in other spots. With free agency starting Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET, New York can start building in earnest for 2012.
