2012 NFL Mock Draft, New York Jets Prospect Profiles: Melvin Ingram, DE/OLB, South Carolina

In SB Nation's latest 2012 NFL Mock draft, Ryan Van Bibber selected Melvin Ingram as the No. 16 pick for the New York Jets.

16. New York Jets, Melvin Ingram, OLB/DE, South Carolina

This is a strange year for pass rushers. Every player with the skill to pressure quarterbacks brings more questions than answers. Ingram answered some of those questions at the Senior Bowl. He can continue to do so at the Combine. The Jets could go another direction here if the available pass rushers fail to impress.

Ingram, a 6-foot-2, 276-pound defensive end and outside linebacker from South Carolina, is viewed as one of the premier pass rushers available in April's NFL Draft. The National Football Post rates Ingram as the draft's No. 24 prospect, calling his technique raw but hailing his "suddenness, length and natural feel for the game."

Ingram finished the 2011 season with 10.0 sacks, 48 tackles and 15.0 tackles for loss. In October, Mocking The Draft wrote a feature about Ingram's dominance after he finished a game against Auburn with 11 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
