Jets Fantasy Football Sit/Start Projections, Week One

Here are your New York Jets start ’em/sit ’em fantasy football projections for Week 1 of the 2011 NFL season. SB Nation New York and numberFire.com will be teaming up to try and provide you with the best possible recommendations for the upcoming season.

START

Mark Sanchez
numberFire projection: 13.95 FP, 230.52 passing yards, 1.37 TDs, 0.77 INTs

Analysis: Sanchez won’t put up the biggest numbers, but he should not hurt you, either.

Shonn Greene
numberFire projection: 10.04 FP, 61.71 yards rushing, 0.44 rushing TDs, 10.22 receiving yards, 0.03 TDs.

Analysis: Not a great back, but Greene will get the bulk of the work in the Jets offense.

Santonio Holmes

numberFire projection: 9.99 FP, 4.90 catches, 75.04 yards, 0.40 TDs.

Analysis: Holmes will be Mark Sanchez’s favorite target this season.

Dustin Keller
numberFire projection: 7.10 FP, 4.29 catches, 51.14 yards, 0.33 TDs

Analysis: Keller should see more passes this season as Mark Sanchez is in his third season and should be allowed to throw more often.

SIT

LaDainian Tomlinson
numberFire projection: 4.16 FP, 22.91 yards rushing, 0.15 TDs, 9.91 yards receiving, 0 TDs

Analysis: Tomlinson’s role is going to decrease in the Jets’ offense this season. Don’t play him.
