2011 NFL Mock Draft: Defense Dominates For Jets As Draft Approaches

Rex Ryan would be pleased with the latest round of mock drafts, as we are now less than one month away from the only event not ruined by the ongoing lockout. It has become pretty clear just about everybody is on board with the Jets improving their defensive front seven with the 30th overall pick in the draft. Mel Kiper Jr. is hanging in there with Rahim Moore but every other major draft outlet has the Jets targeting either a defensive lineman or outside linebacker.

Phil Taylor has been the most frequent and consistent pick for the Jets and he would absolutely address an area of need, especially since Kris Jenkins all but confirmed this week he wouldn't be returning to the team. Personally, I think the Jets would have a tough time passing on Ayers if he was still available, considering their trouble getting after the quarterback last year.
