- Curtis Martin of the New York Jets missed out in his first year of Pro Football Hall of Fame eligibility. Seven players were elected, but Martin will have to wait. ↵
- Former New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms was a fiesty player, and he apparently hasn't mellowed. Simms apparently confronted Desmond Howard Saturday over critical remarks Howard made for ESPN regarding Simms' son Matt, a quarterback at the University of Tennessee. ↵
- Syracuse is back in the winning habit. The Orange defeated USF easily on Saturday, 72-49, for their second straight victory. ↵
- St. John's made a valiant effort at a comeback victory Saturday at UCLA, but could not quite pull it off. The Red Storm lost, 66-59. ↵
- In NBA action today, the New York Knicks host the Philadelphia 76ers, and the New Jersey Nets host the Indiana Pacers. ↵
