The Philadelphia Eagles lead the New York Jets 28-13 at halftime at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.
The Eagles carried a 14-0 lead into the second quarter for the damage continued for the Jets. The Eagles had a defensive and offensive touchdown in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Eagles got two more offensive touchdowns.
Michael Vick started the second quarter scoring with an 11-yard scramble for a touchdown.
The rushing touchdown was Vick’s second touchdown of the game. He threw a touchdown pass to Brent Celek in the first quarter. LeSean McCoy got the second Eagles touchdown of the quarter on a 9-yard run.
The Jets finally got on the scoreboard with a Nick Folk 39-yard field goal. They added their first touchdown a couple of minutes later when Mark Sanchez connected with Santonio Holmes, whose first-quarter fumble gave the Eagles a 7-0 lead, for a 25-yard touchdown pass.
Holmes caught the ball in the end zone behind three Eagles defenders and mocked them with a wing flapping celebration of his touchdown.
The Jets added three more points with another field goal with 48 seconds remaining in the first half. Can the Jets comeback in the second half after trailing 28-0 through most of the second quarter? They’ve already scored 13 consecutive points to get within shouting distance.
