An eight-yard touchdown reception by wide receiver David Nelson from quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has helped the Buffalo Bills take an early advantage over the New York Jets, who will begin the second quarter trailing, 7-0. The winner of this AFC East showdown will improve to 6-5 overall and improve their AFC playoff chances.
Nelson's fourth touchdown of the season, so far his only catch of the day, capped a 13-play, 90-yard drive that ended with 1:41 to play in the first. So far, the Bills offense has totaled 94 yards and has converted four first downs.
Meanwhile, the Jets and quarterback Mark Sanchez are struggling to find a rhythm offensively. Currently, Sanchez has completed just 1-of-5 passes for three yards. The Jets have just one first down.
The Jets, who are trying to bounce back from a Week 11 loss to the Denver Broncos, will begin the second quarter with the ball near midfield.
